We fix everything else so why not our mindset?

Updated: Dec 2, 2018

Mindset! That taboo subject that gets overlooked a lot of the time and talked in a way that it's a load of rubbish. Has anyone told you in the past to just get on with it? Most of the time you will hear this type of comment from your parents!

I think purely because when talking about mindest people associate it with mental health and are embarrassed, when in fact it has nothing to do with mental health but could help avoid these issues.

It's fascinating that if something breaks like a washing machine or the car you would go and get that fixed no matter what the cost because you understand that you need these things to get on with life. The same goes for a broken bone, but when it comes down to the mind, it seems to get overlooked and brushed under the carpet and seen as weak when in fact your mind should be the first thing that you should protect, develop and mend as it's your world.

Your world, the way you talk, the way you dress and look, the job you are in, your financial situation, the family and friends that you have all come from choices that you have made. Those choices will either pigeonhole you into a type of person that is never lucky or will never be rich or never go on holiday or never have any friends, or, they will enable you to design and build your perfect lifestyle allowing you to be in your ideal job or business, to have enough finances to do the things you want to do when you want to do it, drive the car you want, etc.

It can't be a coincidence that the majority of successful people work on their mindset to the point of hiring a mindset coach including sports professionals. You see everything comes down to your mind and the choices that it makes, if you have a healthy mindset then you will be more able to attack and complete those problematic challenging tasks, if you have negative emotions associated to certain aspects of life or work which will build limiting beliefs blocking you from believing that you can achieve.

The bottom line for you: If you keep doing what you've always done, then you'll keep getting what you've still got. Maybe it's time to think about how you think?

Maybe it's time to make those changes?

If I can change then anyone can including you!

You are no different to anyone who has gone before you, I'm not saying it will be easy, but it will be worth it, you have one life so you may as well live it on your terms.

Start by looking at how you do things and what you say to yourself and the people around you, do you talk yourself down all of the time like your not good enough, you could never do that, I'm too fat, I hate myself, I haven't got the confidence, I wish that were me? Negative self-talk is so destructive to yourself, this will take time but to be happy with yourself will give you a massive step in the right direction.

Do you talk about people all of the time like, "it's ok for those they are rich", or "who do they think they are", "it's not fair why should they have all that money", "look at him showing off"!

I know you would have said one of these or heard others talk like this I know I have heard people talk like this!

Again I know this won't be easy to change and it has taken me five years to change my attitude and what I believed was possible, this has included investing into coaches and programs and attending seminars and reading self-development books, listening to audios in the car and watching motivation stuff online.

You may need help to eliminate those negative emotions and limiting beliefs so don't be shy or see it as a weakness, reach out and get the help you need. You will thank yourself in the future if you do.
